Mirrors was founded for the purpose of honoring those Sophomore Class members who have and will continue to excel in leadership and services. These students shall stimulate an interest among all students of Ohio State in extra-curricular activities, good scholarship, and citizenship. They shall, as individuals and as a unified group, give their leadership and loyalty to the Ohio State University. Mirrors was founded by two Ohio State University women, and was named when in the early hours of one morning the women saw the reflection of torches on the water of Mirror Lake. The name and motto, “The reflection of what we have done-the image to which we aspire.” were then established. Currently Mirrors members participate in social and service activities. Mirrors holds an annual benefit dance in the winter with all proceeds going to the James Cancer Hospital, and the group does service projects and activities throughout the year with the patients at the James.
